It starts untimed, with short, ordinary English words and no punctuation to trip over — just letters and spaces, so the only thing being practiced is finding the right key without looking. There is a gentle 30-second test as an option if a child wants to see a number, and nothing anywhere on the page nags them toward it. No score ladder, no streak, no reason to come back tomorrow other than wanting to.
No ads, on this page, in any version of it. No signup, no account, no email address, and no cookies. No chat, no usernames, and no other children to compare against. No links off to anywhere else on the site or beyond it — every link on this page stays within the typing pages. Nothing is collected: whatever a child types is compared to the text on screen in their own browser and then forgotten, and the only thing saved is a speed number in that browser's own storage.
It loads in well under a second on a classroom Chromebook, works offline once opened, and needs no install and no permissions. Every word and sentence on this site was written for it and screened to be safe to project in front of a class — no violence, no brands, no real people, nothing that will age badly.
